What’s for dinner?

I love The Barefoot Contessa. I love the shows, the books and of course the food. All the recipes are fool proof, even for me, super easy to follow and she uses ingredients that are easy to found. They are your everyday food, bumped up!
For dinner tonight I wanted something fresh & light. I found the fresh salmon tartar; it can be an appetizer, hors d’oeuvre, first course or -for me- dinner!
For the recipe:
Cook Book: Barefoot Contessa, how easy is that? Page 77
TV Show: Barefoot Contessa, Season 5, Shake it up (available on iTunes)
On line for free:

Do you dare?

This is the Caviar Manicure from Ciaté, available at Sephora in black, white or rainbow for 25$.   I don't know if I could, but it does look cool.  Reviews says it only last one day, so is good if you are going to an event, and anyhow I don’t think you want to have the pearls in you nails for more than one night. The kit comes with a base coat and the pearls, but don’t apply top coat or the colors will bleed and mix.

Girly Icing

I was not  an accessory loving type of girl, simple earrings, never necklaces, sometimes rings and rarely bracelets. However, for a couple of years now, my love had started  to grow and so did my little collection. Posted below, a designer I found today which earned a spot on my wish list.

Eli’s Artichoke Dip

Every family reunion, My Aunt Eli goes with a big bowl of Artichoke Dip and leaves empty handed… It is amazing! So when I got married and moved to my new home, I knew I needed an easy and delicious recipe for all those friends and family parties that were about to come. I ask My Aunt for the recipe and made it a staple ever since!
Ingredients:
   1 can of artichoke hearts
   1 small onion preferable red
   1 cup freshly grated Parmesan
   1/2 cup mayonnaise
   Salt & pepper

Directions:
1.            Drain artichoke and roughly chop, add to bowl
2.            Finely mince onion, add to bowl
3.            Grate parmesan, add to bowl
4.            Add mayo
5.            Season with salt & pepper and mix well

Note:
I made this dip with yellow onion and it is still good, but the red not only gives it a nice color, it has a milder taste.

Travelers Tip

Your luggage is already overstuffed by necessities (10 pairs of shoes, for a 5 day trip) so who is thinking of taking a pillow for the plane? But, once you arrive to your seat, super tired, those dirty pillows set you back. You don’t know, or do not want to know, how many heads had rested there. So here comes my tip, boudoir pillow sham! Preferably 2, one for getting to your destination and one for coming home, they are tiny, so they easily fit on your purse. You put them on the plane’s pillows (they fit perfectly) and voila! Germ free and oh so super chick!!! I pack them inside out on my purse to ensure they are clean, put them right side out on the pillows and then put them away inside out again. Once I get home I wash them and store the shams with my travel essentials so they are ready to go for my next journey.
You can buy them anywhere, I like the Pottery Barn ones, in Pearl or Grand embroider, you can also personalize them. At $19.00, they are almost cheaper than any pillow you buy at the airport and so much cuter!

Shocking Orange!

Maybe this is not a shock for you, but for me it was a huge discovery… Orange tinted makeup!! What do I mean by that? – I mean, orange blush as in Ysl #7 Coriander and Orange lip-gloss as in Chanel #64 Sunset Gold. I received both of them as a gift with purchase, I don’t even remember how long ago and went to the bottom of my drawer until now.  Wanting to squeeze these last days of summer, I decided to try a new summery makeup look and stumble upon these two. I completely felt in love! They may look shocking but once you try them they give you the most sun kiss natural look, it is amazing!
